Two weeks of sunshine, 30° and long, sandy beaches… wait, haven’t you been to Ireland? Yes, indeed! The small, beautiful town Waterford in the South of Ireland hosted our group of 24 students, accompanied by Ms. Gruber and Ms. Fuchs.
Before our actual trip, the students had to absolve an online course where they refreshed their English skills in order to speak fluently while in Ireland. After that, there was some paperwork to be done and finally, all students were ready to take the flight to Ireland.
At arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by their host families, they were shown their rooms and were explained how their work placements are going to be. The first day was going to be quite different from the others, all students and teachers met up at Treacy’s Hotel where they were explained by group manager Con Furey how the next 2 weeks are going to be. Then, they were taken to their work places and got to know their bosses and employees. Students and teachers met up for a social evening at Geoff’s Bar on Wednesday, where they ordered typical Irish food and drinks and met their friends again. On Sunday, they had a beautiful trip to Dublin where they visited and explored the Guinness Storehouse and after that, they could go off and explore the capital city. In the second week on Wednesday, they learned to play the traditional Irish bodhran drum. And eventually, the 2 weeks had passed, leaving students and teachers with some wonderful memories.
