You're at home Baby! 4AHEL at the FM4 radio station

On 1st of February our class, the 4AHEL (Department of electrical engineering, electronics and information technology)  and  our form teacher, Katalin Peltzer, visited the RadioKulturhaus, in the Argentinierstraße, 4th district of Vienna, more precisely the FM4 radio station, a bilingual (German – English), culture-based station with a young progressive audience.

We got to see the audio studio of FM4 and we met the all-time favourite host, Riem Higazi, who took us into the world of a radio show host. While we were visiting her, she was still on air with the show FM4 Reality Check. It was quite astonishing to see how a live show was being held!

After we saw the FM4 working place, we also took a look at a special room where audio books are recorded. The room had many sound changing features which was interesting to see. This special room was built to replicate scenes out of a book and to produce unique sound effects.

Before we left, we also got to experience what it is like to be a radio host or reporter. We had the opportunity to read the weather forecast and political news, similar to a live show.

It was a marvelous and superb excursion that we all enjoyed very much.

Check out the extract from the live show with Ms Higazi, in which our class is being mentioned!
